Official Manistee County court questions should go to the court or clerk that holds the case. This page identifies the record route for Circuit, District, and Probate matters and explains the limits of this private reference resource.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. This private reference resource cannot retrieve records, change a court setting, seal a case, issue certified copies, or provide legal advice. Contact the responsible court or clerk for those services.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Use the court that keeps the specific Manistee County file:

  • Case history or docket: start with Docket Search and then contact the record custodian for an official copy
  • A hearing date: review the Court Schedule and confirm the active setting with the responsible court
  • Certified Circuit record: request it from the Manistee County Clerk / Circuit Court Clerk
  • District traffic, civil-infraction, misdemeanor, small-claims, or landlord-tenant case: contact 85th District Court staff
  • Probate estate, trust, guardianship, conservatorship, mental-health, or will record: contact the Probate Register

For 19th Circuit Court records, contact the Manistee County Clerk / Circuit Court Clerk, 415 Third Street, Manistee, MI 49660; 231-723-3331; clerk@manisteecountymi.gov; Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Ask for a court record under MCR 8.119, which governs Michigan court-record access. A court docket or case file is not a county FOIA request because Michigan's judiciary is excluded from FOIA. County FOIA procedures instead apply to eligible county administrative or Sheriff records. A written request is required when paying by card for a county court-record copy; identify the court, case number, document, and whether a plain or certified copy is needed.
